For the past week we have been living in Drumheller, a small town one hour east of Calgary that is famous for dinosaurs. In Drumheller we went hunting for fossils and found four dinosaur bones.

Drumheller used to be covered in a huge sea and then a tropical rainforest. Dinosaurs thrived in this place - it's kind of like a real-life Jurassic Park.

We spent a morning exploring the hoodoos, funny rock formations on the edge of the town.

What were the most common dinosaurs that lived in Drumheller?

Our friends Brodie and Jackson met us in Drumheller. This is us in the mouth of the world's biggest dinosaur - her name was Tyra.

The Albertosaurus: This was a skinnier version of a T-Rex with killer jaws.

Gorgosaurus: This was a huge lizard with dozens of sharp teeth.

Ankylosaurus: This was a dinosaur covered in armor with a big hammer at the end of its tail.

This is the T-Rex fossil called Black Beauty because of its black bones.

Drumheller was a cool and mysterious place. I've never been anywhere like it!

Great to read about your family adventures in Drumheller Arlo. I can just imagine those giant dinosaurs stomping around in that primitive environment! Pop and I love the hoodoos and remember really enjoying our visit to the hoodoos in Bryce Canyon in the US a few years ago. Look it up :) x
