This year I have learnt how to ski in Canada. It is now the end of the ski season here. I have written a story about the five things I liked the most about skiing here.

Reason One: Soft Snow

Mount Timothy was the first skifield we went to in Canada. This is me on the chairlift. The snow here was so soft and fun to ski on.

The snow in Canada has mostly been very soft. The best snow was at Mount Timothy and Banff Sunshine. Soft snow is the best because it makes your skis grip, takes away hard landings, makes it easier to carve and makes power stops more fun.

Reason Two: The Views

Here is me at the top of Lake Louise Skifield. The mountains behind me is where Lake Louise itself is. This is my favourite skifield in all of Canada.

The views in Canada have been beautiful. The best views were at Banff Sunshine skifield. The views there were beautiful because everywhere you look was very snowy mountains. I loved the views on a run called Juniper Jungle which was at Lake Louise skifield.

Reason Three: The Lifties

This is a photo of my brother and sister having a snowball fight with a liftie at Fairmont Springs Skifield.

The lifties in Canada are very friendly and fun. They always give you a wave and snow down the chairlifts when you need help.

Reason Four: Huge Sizes

This is my family at the top of Whistler-Blackcomb. This skifield was absolutely huge!

The skifields in Canada are some of the biggest in the world! They are like huge adventure playgrounds. The biggest skifield we have been to here is Whistler-Blackcomb. It has over 200 runs.

Reason Five: Mountain Cafes

This is a photo of the Umbrella Bar up on Whistler-Blackcomb. This isn't our photo but it shows how beautiful the scenery is around the mountain cafes!

The reason I like the mountain cafes is because they are high up in the snow, have really good food and really good views.

I am sad the ski season in Canada is over here but really happy that I have now learnt to ski. I want to go on lots more skiing adventures in the future.
