Exploring the Rocky Mountains

After visiting Whistler we drove over one thousand kilometres east to the middle of the Rocky Mountains. We checked in to our new house - a two story log cabin. From the lounge I can see tall peaks touching the sky right right behind us. The mountains are covered with soft white snow, and there are animals crawling all over them. On the tops there are bighorn sheep and mountain goats. And towards the bottom there are elk, cougars, lynx, bears and deer.

This house is HUGE! It has two lounges. I am sharing my room with my little brother Finn. We have a bunk bed with a king size bed on the bottom, and a single bed on the top. The bunk bed is made of logs.

This is our house for the next month. Look for the snowy mountain peaks right behind it!

My favourite thing we have done here so far is seeing the Marble Canyon. The Marble Canyon is in Kootenay National Park. When we saw it it was covered in snow and icicles and it was very deep. My Poppa was with us, he is afraid of heights and wouldn't do the walk because the canyon was so deep.

The Marble Canyon was so cool. There were little bridges on top of it so you could look inside.

We are staying here for a month, and I think we are going to really enjoy it.

Exploring our backyard here is so fun.

Beautiful photos! That house is so picture perfectly Canada, Arlo. You'll remember that one forever, I bet! Justin's dad once had a moose wander past his Lakeside cottage that looked a lot like that one and guess what he tried to do...? Feed it a muesli bar! He unwrapped it and threw it at the moose, who just blinked at him.

Can't wait for more updates!

Ha ha! We haven't seen a moose yet but I hope we do see one. Today we had some mule deer in our front yard. I hope we will see a grizzly bear too.
